三、教學目標 Objectives
英語構詞法是讓同學增進英文詞彙能力的一門選修課。這門課從構詞法切入，系統地介紹英文單詞，如借詞（拉丁文、法文）、人名詞、地名詞、截短詞、縮合詞、字母詞、重疊詞、擬聲詞、希臘文構詞成分。每週小考，需要大量背單詞，修課同學請留意。
English Word-Formation is designed to help students develop systematic vocabulary-building skills, thereby increasing their word power. The instructor introduces learned words by the word-formation processes (Latin & French borrowings, Greek elements, eponyms, toponyms, clippings, blends, acronyms, reduplications, and onomatopoeias) they are grouped under. Please note that weekly quizzes are administered, and lots of vocabulary items have to be memorized.
