三、教學目標 Objectives
使學生知悉自古以來科學的重要觀察及實驗發現與理論發明，從而認識重要的科學方法，體會科學精神的要義。
To introduce students to important observational, experimental as well as theoretical discoveries since ancient to modern times, with the view that they absorb the essentials of scientific methods and scientific spirit in the course of teaching.
四、課程內容 Course Description
●整體敘述 Overall Description 本課先說明什麼是科學及研習科學發展史的意義。接著介紹古希臘時期科學的起源，再說明近代科學的誕生，以至二十世紀的發展。因為時數有限，當只能就重大的科學革命作較詳細的說明。在介紹科學發展時，會重視科學方法。 The course will begin with explaining the meaning of science and the significance of studying the development of science. Then it will introduce the origin of science in the Greek period, followed by describing the birth of modern science in the 17th Century, down to the development in the 20th Century. For want of time, only great revolutions in science will be treated in more details. Scientific methods will be emphasized while describing the development of science.
