三、教學目標 Objectives
意識研究在1980年前純屬哲學研究，近年來則吸引大批的心理學家、認知科學家、神經科學家及其他領域的學者投入研究。近十年來的研究進展己逐漸形成意識科學。由於意識研究觸及最神秘且最難解的主觀經驗之謎，這個領域成為引領學生籍當代認知神經科學之助去探討傳統哲學中的Mind/Body Problem 與形上學及知識論中之若干核心問題的最佳途徑。對生命科學系大學部學生而言，可以藉著探討相對熟悉的腦科學發現在哲學上的意義而習得重要的哲學基礎知識與哲學思考方法。此外，藉著認識近年來腦科學在研究意識上的新發現，或可激發若干學生選擇認知神經科學為未來之研究領域。
