| This is a course designed for graduate students who have never studied Oriental literatures in a systematic way. The course is basically a survey of masterpieces of three major regions of Asia, the Near East, India, and the Far East. It contains famous works of different genres and different periods in history so that students will have some basic ideas about Eastern philosophies and literary history and will be able to draw comparison among different cultures. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
