| This course offers students an overview of the Bible through selected readings and a detailed discussion of the texts from both historical and literary perspectives, with particular emphasis on the Hebrew Bible (the Old Testament). Moreover, students will learn the influence of the Bible on Western culture in different media forms. Eventually, students will enjoy the Bible to a greater extent and will be able to detect almost ubiquitous biblical references and allusions around them. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
