三、教學目標 Objectives
The course objectives are primarily to broaden and deepen knowledge and enjoyment of children’s books as well as to develop an awareness of the issues and trends in the field, to understand the characteristics of the various genres of children’s literature, to develop an ability in interpreting and critically evaluating children’s literature and finally, to explore way of bringing children and books together and making literature an integral part of their lives. English is used as the language of instruction, thus, enabling students to improve their 4 skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. 
四、課程內容 Course Description
整體敘述 Overall Description
Like adult literature, children’s literature is varied and multi-purposed. This course introduces the student to the world of children's literature where entertainment or sheer pleasure of reading is the main objective. From picture books to book illustration, from alphabet books to realistic fiction, this course examines and analyzes the literary elements and genres of this field of study.
