三、教學目標 Objectives
This course is designed to help students improve their reading comprehension ability and become effective readers of English, as well as helping them develop other skills related to English proficiency. The course helps students develop the skills, habits, and attitudes that will result in more effective reading, writing, and oral discussion skills. Material presented in the reading section of the class will be reflected on and examined both in the group discussion section and through written work. Topics include understanding the reading process, guessing meaning from context, finding the main idea, expanding vocabulary knowledge, the organization of articles & stories, the critical evaluation of the views presented in articles, and the importance of honesty in reference. Reading assignments will include novels, short stories, informational & persuasive articles. This two-semester course will be taught entirely in English.
